Foster Care Associates (FCA) invites applications for a Senior / Supervising Social Worker in the South West, covering Cornwall and Plymouth. The role is 22.5 hours per week with a salary up to £40,081.10 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

You’ll support Foster Parents and young people, provide supervision, and contribute to safeguarding and care planning within FCA’s high-performing team. Flexible benefits are pro-rated.

Qualifications

• Qualified social worker with professional registration in Social Work England.
• Proven ability to produce high-quality reports.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
• Willingness to travel across South West region (Somerset, Cornwall, Devon, Torbay, Plymouth).
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsabilités

• Support Foster Parents and their families to achieve outstanding outcomes for all children and young people in foster care.
• Monitor the continued suitability and competence of Foster Parents, ensuring a safe, healthy, nurturing environment for children and young people.
• Ensure Foster Parents understand tasks, competencies, and FCA policies, including complaints and representation procedures.
• Provide regular supervision to allocated Foster Parents in line with FCA's Operational Standards.
• Work in partnership to identify needs within the foster family and coordinate resources with the child’s network.
• Ensure documentation for each child and Foster Parent is up to date and compliant.
• Attend meetings and provide reports for commissioning teams to address individual packages of care.
• Promote participation of children and young people in agency development and community opportunities.
• Participate in an out-of-hours support rota.
• Undertake occasional initial home visits and Form F assessments.
