Job summary

National Grid is recruiting an Operations Manager - Substations to lead the safe, efficient and resilient operation of electricity transmission substations across 8 sites in the Teesside area. You will shape asset performance, oversee preventative maintenance and coordinate major capital works while line-managing 9 direct reports and a wider team of around 22 FTE.

This is a role that requires visible, confident leadership, excellent communication and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• HNC/Level 4 qualification or higher.
• Proven Safety Leadership.
• Significant operational people leadership experience.
• Managing costs, performance and commerciality.
• Excellent communication across teams and stakeholders.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety, reliability and performance of substations across 8 sites.
• Manage 9 direct reports and ~22 FTE.
• Oversee preventative maintenance, fault response and capital works.
• Foster continuous improvement and strong safety culture.
