Job summary

Practice Plus Group is recruiting a Senior Substance Misuse Nurse for HMP Wymott, a Category C male prison in Leyland. Ideally a driver due to location. The role focuses on delivering clinical and psychosocial interventions within a multi-disciplinary team, with a strong emphasis on recovery-oriented care and CPD support.

You’ll work 8am–4pm, Monday to Friday, in a full-time capacity, with on-site parking and access to an onsite gym. Salary up to £49,175 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• NMC registered nurse with adult/mental health scope required.
• Committed CPD and career development support.
• RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to develop individualised care packages.
• Deliver treatment options including clinical and psychosocial interventions.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and recovery planning; communicate options to service users.
• Monitor therapeutic responses to medications and liaise with prescribers.
• Support in group work; occasional dispensing.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Substance Misuse Nurse to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Wymott, a Category C male prison located in Leyland. Ideally needs to be a car driver due to location of the prison

HMP Wymott has capacity of around 1,100, and has a varied and complex population.

You will have experience in substance misuse and ideally hold RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake.

Salary:

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £43,609 - £49,175 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Substance Misuse Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prioritising patient care to develop individualised packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning
• Deliver a range of treatment options including clinical and psychosocial interventions in both a group and 1-1 setting with recovery at the centre of our healthcare wellbeing model
• Be able to carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans and confidently communicate the full range of treatment options available to service users.
• Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects and liaise with prescribers. You will work with individuals, on a 1-1 basis, providing advice and information
• Support in group work delivery and liaise with prescribers and Recovery Practitioners on clinical interventions. You will occasionally be required to support dispensing
• Have an understanding and commitment to recovery and a person centred approach.

• Registered nurse with current NMC Adult / Mental Health
• Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD).
• RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake.
