Job summary

Practice Plus Group Holdings Limited is seeking a Senior Substance Misuse Nurse to join the Health in Justice team in the UK. The role involves multidisciplinary assessment, recovery planning, and delivering clinical and psychosocial interventions with a recovery-centered approach.

The ideal candidate is an NMC-registered nurse (Adult or Mental Health) with CPD evidence and experience in substance misuse, who communicates with empathy and works in a supportive, secure environment.

Qualifications

  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD).
  • Experience in substance misuse care.
  • Non-judgmental and compassionate patient care.
  • Registration with NMC as Adult or Mental Health nurse.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to prioritise patient care and develop individualised care packages.
  • Deliver clinical and psychosocial interventions in group and 1-1 settings with recovery at the centre of care.
  • Carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review recovery plans, and communicate treatment options to service users.
  • Monitor responses to medications and liaise with prescribers and Recovery Practitioners.
  • Support in group work delivery and occasionally assist with dispensing.

Job description

As a Senior Substance Misuse Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prioritising patient care to develop individualised packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning
  • Deliver a range of treatment options including clinical and psychosocial interventions in both a group and 1-1 setting with recovery at the centre of our healthcare wellbeing model
  • Be able to carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans and confidently communicate the full range of treatment options available to service users.
  • Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects and liaise with prescribers. You will work with individuals, on a 1-1 basis, providing advice and information
  • Support in group work delivery and liaise with prescribers and Recovery Practitioners on clinical interventions. You will occasionally be required to support dispensing
  • Have an understanding and commitment to recovery and a person centred approach.

Qualifications
  • Registered nurse with current NMC Adult / Mental Health
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD).
  • RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake.
  • Experience of working with opiate dependant patients.
  • Sound clinical substance misuse knowledge.
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach.

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary between £43,609 - £49,175 per annum FTE depending on experience.
