Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Principal Submarine Systems Engineer to lead technical oversight across Platform Systems. The role interfaces with Design Authorities and MOD stakeholders to shape long-term engineering solutions and ensure design intent is maintained from planning to acceptance.

The successful candidate will work full-time (35 hours per week) on-site at HMNB Clyde Faslane or Devonport Royal Dockyard, with flexibility for attendance aligned to business needs.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• Chartered Engineer status, or close to achieving it.
• Additional technical qualifications related to naval, marine, systems or mechanical/electrical engineering - Desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight and guidance across Platform Systems.
• Interface with Design and Technical Authorities and key project/stakeholder groups.
• Collaborate with internal project teams and MOD stakeholders on long-term engineering solutions.
• Ensure design intent is upheld from work package creation through execution, testing and acceptance.
• Participate in engineering change assessment and continuous improvement efforts.
• Undertake risk assessment, audits, and navigate related processes.
