Job summary

Aureos is recruiting a Sub Agent to support the Howden Relief Road project for East Riding of Yorkshire Council. You will lead engineering teams across earthworks, drainage and pavement, ensuring delivery to NEC4 standards and local authority requirements.

This 12-month contract requires a Civil Engineering degree, 10+ years in highways, and extensive experience with MCDHW/SHW specifications. You will drive planning, quality assurance and stakeholder collaboration on site.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• CSCS Manager Card and SMSTS.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in highways/civil engineering.
• Extensive earthworks, drainage and pavement experience.
• Excellent NEC4 knowledge and project delivery principles.
• Experience managing Quality Management Systems and teams.
• Strong leadership, planning, and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering teams delivering earthworks, drainage, and pavement works.
• Drive safety, quality, programme and productivity objectives.
• Ensure works align with drawings, specs, and contract requirements.
• Identify risks early and drive solutions to protect cost and schedule.
• Plan short-term resources and coordinate engineering support.
• Develop and manage ITPs, QA/QC processes, and records.
• Mentor Site/Graduate Engineers and foster continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with client, designers, and supply chain representatives.
