Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Bristol seeks a Senior Structural Technician to produce 2D drawings and 3D models for building structures, specializing in steel, concrete, timber and masonry. You will mentor apprentices and collaborate with engineers to resolve design challenges.

Proficiency in Revit and BIM delivery is essential, with experience in common data environments and UK BIM standards. A proactive, team-oriented approach and willingness to learn are valued.

Qualifications

• In-depth experience of Autodesk products, specifically Revit.
• Experience utilising common data environments to support project delivery.
• Good knowledge of digital tools within the building industry.
• In-depth knowledge of UK and industry-wide BIM requirements.
• Demonstrating a capability for problem-solving and understanding the wider engineering context of drawings and models.
• Proven track record in BIM delivery from concept to construction.
• To work on own initiative and as part of a team of engineers and technicians.
• Good general knowledge of construction techniques and materials.
• Good organisational and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively manage time during peaks in workload.
• Experience in utilising automation processes to improve efficiency desirable (e.g. Dynamo).

Responsibilities

• Responsible for accurately and reliably producing 2D structural drawings and 3D models from engineering sketches.
• Responsible for delivering structural steelwork drawings, reinforced concrete drawings, RC detailing, and schedules.
• Working experience using packages such as CADS RC would be beneficial but not essential.
• Responsible for mentoring apprentice technicians.
• Responsible for working closely with our engineers to understand and foresee practical challenges within a design and to work with the team to resolve design and detailing challenges.
• Liaise with the BIM Coordinator or National BIM Lead to raise awareness of any identified issues with internal standards on projects.
• Ensure project standards are in accordance with the project BEP.
• Responsible for document control using AtkinsRéalis and client CDE's.
