Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking a Senior Structural Technician for a 3-month contract with a local authority in Northallerton. The role involves producing and coordinating high-quality structural drawings and BIM models, working closely with structural engineers, architects, and contractors.

You will manage BIM coordination across steelwork, RC, masonry and timber, with proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, and provide construction-stage technical support. A UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ structural detailing experience in an engineering design consultancy.
• Proven experience on new-build and refurbishment projects.
• Strong detailing across steelwork, RC, masonry and timber.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD to produce detailed models/drawings.
• UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to develop structural designs for substructures and superstructures.
• Produce, supervise and coordinate 3D BIM models and 2D drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Interpret engineers’ sketches into accurate drawings and coordinated BIM models.
• Prepare preliminary drawings for outline estimates and early-stage development.
• Provide construction-stage technical support including RFIs and TQs.
• Review concrete details and schedules and coordinate with fabricators.
• Undertake site visits to resolve construction issues.
• Coordinate information with architects, engineers, contractors to resolve clashes.
