Job summary

RGB Recruitment represents a progressive structural engineering consultancy seeking a Senior Structural Technician to support growth in Bristol. This is a strong opportunity for an ambitious technician who takes ownership of their work and contributes to high‑quality building structures projects.

At minimum, you would join at senior technical level with aspirations to become BIM lead, with clear potential to move straight into this leading role in time.

Qualifications

• Senior technical level with experience in structural modelling, drawing production and design coordination.
• Fluent in Revit and AutoCAD minimum.
• Ambitious, accountable and able to work collaboratively.
• Strong understanding of buildability and modern software applications.
• Excellent communication with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structural modelling, drawing production and detailing across building projects.
• Work on diverse major developments, sensitive projects and smaller bespoke structures.
• Support design and specification development for contractor clients.
• Collaborate with engineers, clients, contractors and design teams to consider buildability and performance.
• Communicate with clients during project development, with senior support when needed.
• Contribute to BIM best practice across the business.
• Stay informed about emerging software and digital tools to improve delivery.

At minimum, this person would be joining at a senior technical level with aspirations to for BIM lead position, there is also scope for this person to move straight into this leading role.

We are looking for someone who is technically and commercially astute with a solid understanding of the buildability of projects but also the application of modern software. Projects can be summed up as interesting, diverse and challenging. This person would be joining a highly skilled and award winning team

• Supporting design and specification development for contractor clients and client organisations.
• Collaborating with engineers, clients, contractors and wider design teams to consider buildability, commercial requirements and operational performance.
• Communicating directly with clients during project development, with senior support available where appropriate.
• Contributing to the development, maintenance and monitoring of BIM best practice across the business.
• Staying informed about emerging software, digital tools and process improvements that could strengthen technical delivery.
