Job summary

Skilled Careers is working with a fantastic structural engineering consultancy based in Shoreditch, London, looking to hire a Senior Structural Engineer into a growing team. The role focuses on large-scale retrofit and refurbishment projects across London, spanning commercial and residential sectors.

You will lead structural design, analysis and technical delivery from concept through to construction, collaborating with architects, contractors and the wider design team.

Qualifications

• Strong background in structural engineering, ideally in a UK consultancy environment.
• Experience delivering refurbishment, retrofit or alteration projects involving existing buildings.
• Solid technical understanding of structural design and relevant UK design standards.
• Confidence coordinating projects and communicating with clients and the wider design team.
• Proactive, collaborative approach and ability to support junior team members.
• Chartered status, or working towards chartership, would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Take a leading role in the design and delivery of large-scale retrofit and refurbishment projects across London.
• Work across commercial and residential developments, with some new-build projects in the mix.
• Lead structural design, analysis and technical delivery from concept through to construction.
• Collaborate closely with architects, contractors and other design professionals to develop practical, buildable solutions.
• Support and mentor junior engineers, helping to develop the wider team.
• Take ownership of project packages, coordinate deliverables and contribute to successful project outcomes.
