Job summary

Marshall Davies Ltd in Glasgow is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead delivery of complex structural projects, with a focus on temporary works design and construction methodologies. The role demands ownership of projects, client liaison, and mentoring of junior engineers.

You will direct technical design from concept to completion, applying Eurocodes and modern engineering principles to create safe, efficient, buildable solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Strong background in structural engineering / temporary works design.
• Proven ability to lead projects and manage client relationships.
• Experience mentoring or managing junior engineers.
• Strong technical knowledge of structural behaviour, materials, and design standards (Eurocodes).
• Chartered or working towards Chartership (ICE/IStructE).

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of structural engineering projects.
• Design and oversee complex temporary works schemes.
• Develop and review construction sequences and methodologies.
• Deliver detailed design across structural engineering, from concept through to construction.
• Apply advanced structural engineering principles to develop safe, efficient, and buildable solutions.
• Review and sign off design calculations, drawings, and technical reports.
• Mentor and develop graduate and intermediate engineers, supporting their technical and professional growth.
