Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is representing a Bangor-based structural engineering consultancy in North Wales seeking a Senior Structural Engineer. You will lead design and analysis across domestic and small-to-medium commercial projects, producing calculations, drawings and reports while managing projects from concept to construction.

You will mentor junior engineers, liaise with architects and clients, and contribute to technical development within the team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Chartered or working towards chartership (ICE or IStructE).
• Strong experience in residential structural engineering.
• Confident producing calculations and technical reports.
• Familiarity with materials including steel, timber, masonry and reinforced concrete.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design and analysis across residential and commercial projects.
• Produce structural calculations, drawings, and reports.
• Manage projects from concept through to construction.
• Liaise with architects, contractors, and clients.
• Conduct site visits and provide practical engineering solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical development within the team.
