Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Edinburgh and Glasgow is seeking a Chartered Structural Engineer to join our Building Structures team. You will apply your technical expertise to a range of UK projects from feasibility to construction, delivering safe, sustainable design solutions.

You'll work in a multidisciplinary environment, mentor junior staff, and contribute to technical reviews, BIM plans, and site inspections across Scotland and the UK.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Chartered status mandatory (IStructE or ICE).
• Experience designing with traditional materials to Eurocodes.
• Familiarity with structural analysis software such as Tekla Structural Designer, Robot and Revit.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical skills to a wide range of building structures and design scenarios.
• Develop conceptual solutions through to detailed design stages.
• Assist in delivering projects within defined programme and cost parameters.
• Contribute to the multi-disciplinary team approach on projects.
• Undertake research, data collection, and presentation of findings.
• Present results to clients under supervision of a lead designer.
• Present findings and solutions through excellent written communication and report writing.
• Represent AtkinsRéalis at site visits and design team meetings.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance procedures.
• Work in accordance with BIM standards, Digital Plan of Work, and BIM Execution Plans.
• Support and mentor junior or less experienced team members.
• Maintain and develop a broad technical skillset.
• Demonstrate proactive commitment to self-development.
