A leading engineering consultancy in the UK is looking for a Senior Consulting Engineer with over 8 years of experience in civil and structural engineering. The successful candidate will work on technical designs for highways and drainage projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and sustainability criteria. About the Role:
Our client is currently on the hunt for a motivated Senior Consulting Engineer, where you'll be tasked with working alongside other engineers (Chartered/mid-level/graduates). You will engage in diverse and challenging structural projects, including, bespoke new builds, refurbishments, highway and drainage design, and heritage works and have experience with complex and challenging structural designs from start to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be tasked with providing high-quality concept and detailed technical designs for highway and drainage projects. You'll perform a range of drainage calculations, such as QBar, attenuation storage, foul loads, and network analysis. Your duties will also include designing adoptable and non-adoptable highways, car parks, and footpaths for various surface types.
You will prepare and submit LLFA information requests related to drainage designs, flood risk assessments, and drainage strategies. Additionally, you will handle the prep and management of applications to Drainage and Highway Authorities (S104, S106, S185, S184, S278, S38).
Ensuring projects meet specified budgets and timeframes will also be essential and you'll manage sustainability criteria and comply with designers duties under CDM Regulations.
What you'll need:
8+ years post qualification experience in Civil and Structural engineering
Chartered / near-chartered status with a relevant body eg: MICE or MIStructE
2:1 BSc/BEng in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent - Minimum
Full UK driving license and own transport
