Job summary

Build Maintain Recruit Limited is recruiting a Structural Engineer or Senior Structural Engineer in Bristol with a minimum of 4 years' post-graduate experience. You will design and deliver building structures, undertake surveys, and collaborate closely with architects, clients and the wider team.

The role offers flexible working arrangements and a clear path toward IStructE or ICE chartership, with a salary £40,000–£55,000 dependent on experience, and a Bristol city centre friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years post-graduate structural engineering experience.
• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience designing building structures across materials and project types.
• Knowledge of structural design standards and Building Regulations.
• Ability to liaise with clients and architects directly.
• Chartered status with IStructE or ICE beneficial (candidates considered toward chartership).

Responsibilities

• Produce structural calculations, designs and drawings for building structures.
• Design using steel, concrete, masonry and timber.
• Work on residential, commercial and other building projects.
• Collaborate with architects, clients and other professionals.
• Undertake structural surveys of domestic properties.
• Investigate defects and prepare technical reports after site inspections.
• Manage own projects with team support; mentor junior engineers.
