Job summary

MacLeod+Jordan is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing consultancy team in Scotland. You will oversee projects from feasibility through construction support and work directly with clients and the design team.

Responsibilities include leading design in steel, concrete, timber and masonry, performing analyses, and mentoring graduates. Chartered status progress is desirable and UK design standards knowledge is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Experience in a consultancy environment.
• Strong technical ability across structural materials and familiarity with UK design standards and Eurocodes.
• Good written and verbal communication, with client-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design and delivery in steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry.
• Undertake structural analysis and prepare calculations, specifications, drawings and reports.
• Manage projects from enquiry through feasibility to detailed design and construction.
• Liaise directly with clients, architects, contractors, fabricators and the design team.
• Undertake site inspections and reviews of calculations and drawings.
• Provide mentorship to graduates and junior engineers.
