Job summary

Ramboll in Bristol is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to take ownership of structural design across diverse UK and international projects. You will work within the I&IF team, collaborating with structural, civil, MEP and sustainability specialists to deliver innovative, buildable solutions.

You will contribute to technically challenging projects, develop your skills, and enjoy a collaborative and supportive regional team environment with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Chartered with the IStructE, ICE or an international equivalent.
• Experience as a structural engineer within a consultancy or similar environment.
• Good experience of structural design in steel, concrete and/or timber, with a sound understanding of building construction.
• Experience on complex or technically challenging projects.
• An excellent communicator who can explain engineering principles clearly, whether verbally, in writing or through sketching.
• A collaborative approach and an interest in working with other disciplines.
• A genuine curiosity about engineering and a desire to ask, “is there a better way to do this?”
• A passion for developing sustainable and efficient design solutions.

Responsibilities

Your role

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will:

What we're looking for

For this role, we believe your starting point is:

• Chartered with the IStructE, ICE or an international equivalent.
• Experience working as a structural engineer within a consultancy or similar environment.
• Good experience of structural design in steel, concrete and/or timber, together with a sound understanding of building construction.
• Experience of working on complex or technically challenging projects.

• Experience in one or more of the following sectors would be beneficial: rail, aviation, energy, manufacturing, data centres or other critical infrastructure. Experience across multiple sectors would be advantageous.
