Job summary

Strata Construction Consulting UK Ltd in Bristol seeks a Structural Project Engineer to own delivery of varied building projects across sectors. You will design and coordinate structural schemes from concept to construction, working with experienced engineers and technicians, and supporting junior staff.

The role offers project responsibility, client exposure, and a culture focused on technical excellence, mentorship, and leadership development within a flexible hybrid‑working environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–6 years’ UK buildings structures experience.
• Strong design capability across steel, concrete, masonry and timber.
• Experience using structural software such as Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds, Robot, ETABS or similar.
• Chartered or working towards Chartership with IStructE or ICE.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver structural schemes from concept through to construction.
• Produce high-quality calculations, reports and co‑ordinate with technicians.
• Manage packages of work and contribute to project delivery.
• Liaise with clients, architects and contractors; mentor junior engineers.

We’re currently working with an established, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy that’s looking to appoint a Structural Project Engineer to strengthen their growing Bristol team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Structural Engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects and wants to progress within a supportive, technically strong environment.

You’ll be joining a collaborative building structures team delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across industrial, residential, commercial, education, healthcare and mixed-use sectors. Working alongside experienced engineers and technicians, you’ll play a key role in the design and delivery of schemes from concept through to construction.

This role offers genuine project responsibility, exposure to clients, and the chance to contribute to high-quality, architecturally led developments. With a strong pipeline of work and a people-focused culture, this is a great platform for engineers who want to develop technically while also building their leadership and project management skills.

What You Need To Succeed

• Minimum 3-6 years’ UK buildings structures experience.
• Strong design capability in steel, concrete, masonry and timber.
• Experience using structural software such as Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds. Robot, ETABS, or similar.
• Confidence producing calculations, reports and coordinating with technicians.
• Ability to manage packages of work and contribute to project delivery.
• Good communication skills for liaising with clients, architects and contractors.
• A proactive approach and willingness to support junior engineers.
• A strong academic background with a BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Chartered – or working towards – with the IStructE or ICE
