Job summary

Senior Structural Engineer in Leicester required to join a professional consultancy. You will work on a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial and residential projects, delivering structural design, calculations and reports from inception through to completion.

The ideal candidate is degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering and Chartered, or working towards Chartership with ICE or IStructE, with experience in steel, concrete and masonry design.

Senior Structural Engineer

Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to strengthen their building structures team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable engineer seeking a rewarding role within a professional consultancy where quality engineering, client relationships and personal development are at the heart of the business.

Working on a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial and residential projects, you will be involved in structural design, preparing calculations and reports, and helping to deliver projects from inception through to completion. You will liaise with clients, collaborate with colleagues and contribute your technical expertise to produce practical, cost-effective engineering solutions.

The successful candidate will be degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering and Chartered, or working towards Chartership with ICE or IStructE. They will have sound experience in structural design across a range of materials, particularly steel, concrete and masonry, together with experience in structural appraisals of commercial buildings and domestic properties.

Our client is looking for someone with strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills and the confidence to manage their own workload, deliver projects to deadlines and work with a good degree of autonomy. The role also offers the opportunity to support and share knowledge with less experienced engineers, without the extensive management responsibilities associated with a more senior leadership position.
