Job summary

Arup is seeking a Chartered Senior Structural Engineer to join our Leeds team, delivering technically challenging projects from concept through to completion. You will lead major structural packages and work with a multidisciplinary group of engineers and designers to ensure robust, economical solutions.

You will contribute to design excellence, mentoring junior staff and collaborating with project directors to balance technical and commercial considerations across local and international

Qualifications

• Chartered status with IStructE, ICE or equivalent.
• Excellent design and technical skills.
• Strong software skills and ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as Structural Lead on major structural packages or oversee smaller projects.
• Collaborate with project directors and a team of engineers/technicians to deliver projects.

The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a chartered Senior Structural Engineer who is looking for technically challenging work on cutting-edge projects to join our established multidisciplinary Property, Science and Industry team in Leeds.

We are a team of approximately 15 structural engineers and technicians within a team of 45 multidisciplinary engineers, and work closely with our colleagues in other PS&I teams in the North and beyond, and designers from across Arup. Our team are currently involved with local, national and international projects from concept design through to practical completion. Current and recent projects include heritage and refurbishment projects including York Guildhall and Leeds Playhouse; rail and metro projects such as Huddersfield Station, Peterborough Station and the Leeds Existing Station Programme; commercial new build and retrofit developments such as York Central and One City Park; industrial projects such as Siemens Bogie Service Centre and a variety of unique projects. Is this role right for you?

We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer with excellent design, technical, and software skills who enjoys working collaboratively in multi-professional design teams. As a Senior Engineer we would look to you to be the Structural Lead on major structural packages or the entirety of smaller projects, working under one of our project directors with a team of engineers and technicians to deliver the project with both technical prowess as well as commercial awareness. You will have chartered status with IStructE, ICE or equivalent and be committed to your own professional development, looking for challenging work to develop your engineering skills.
