Arup in Sheffield is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Building Engineering team. You will work within a multidisciplinary group of around 20 engineers and technicians on cutting‑edge projects with a strong sustainability focus, supporting the transition to net‑zero carbon.

You will deliver design packages from inception to completion, mentor junior staff, and collaborate across disciplines to solve complex challenges.

Qualifikationen

• Be degree qualified and have achieved chartership via IStructE, ICE or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, and the appropriate use of technical analysis and design software packages.
• Demonstrable buildings-focused structural engineering experience.
• Experience with Eurocode or equivalent.
• Aptitude for working on your own initiative and being proactive.
• Take responsibility for projects (or parts of larger projects) and support less experienced team members.
• Experience of delivering within internal and external commercial targets.
• Good understanding of digital workflows.
• Interest in low- and zero-carbon design.

The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic Senior Structural Engineer to join our creative and friendly Building Engineering team in Sheffield.

You will be a vital part of a multidisciplinary, collaborative team of around 20 Engineers and Technicians delivering cutting edge projects with a strong focus on sustainability that help facilitate the transition to net-zero carbon. Our local, regional, national and international projects will allow you to work and succeed in a multicultural business environment.

Current projects comprise a wide range of projects (new build and refurbishment), which include hospitality, leisure and sports venues, education, industrial, residential and commercial projects with a technical focus.

We are looking for a skilled engineer with strong design, technical and software skills who enjoys working collaboratively in multi-professional design teams, taking responsibility for packages of work from inception to completion to achieve outstanding results.

Responsibilities include:
