Job summary

First People Solutions is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Glasgow to lead structural projects from concept through delivery, ensuring robust design and timely execution. This role calls for strong technical leadership and collaboration within a supportive consultancy.

The ideal candidate will have 8-12 years’ UK design experience, Chartered status preferred, and a proven ability to manage multiple projects while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering required.
• Chartered Engineer status preferred (IStructE / ICE).
• 8-12 years’ experience in a UK design engineering environment.

First People Solutions is currently working with an award-winning consulting engineer in Glasgow who have years of experience delivering innovative engineering designs across a wide range of sectors.

In this role, you’ll take the lead on structural engineering projects, from concept and design through to analysis and delivery, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring project success.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong technical and leadership skills-whether you’re an experienced Engineer ready to step up or a Senior Engineer looking for a sideways move - we want to hear from you!

What we're looking for:

• Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering
• Chartered Engineer status preferred (IStructE / ICE)
• 8-12 years’ experience working within a UK design engineering environment
• Strong knowledge across all stages of concept and design
• Confident managing multiple projects to deadlinesSkilled in overseeing and developing a team
• Proficient in relevant design software
• Full, clean UK driving licence
