Job summary

Brandon James is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for their Cambridge office. You will lead diverse, design-led projects across education, healthcare and local authority sectors, delivering solutions from feasibility through to construction.

The role requires chartered status or active path to chartership, a Civil/Structural Engineering degree, and strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations. You will mentor junior staff, liaise with architects and clients, and promote BIM and 3D design

Qualifications

• Degree or Master’s in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Chartered status with IStructE or ICE, or actively working towards chartership.
• Proven structural engineering experience within a consultancy environment.
• Experience delivering projects in education, healthcare or local authority sectors.
• Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, construction methods and relevant design standards.
• Experience managing structural engineering projects, budgets and deadlines.
• Excellent communication, technical and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to attend site visits.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structural designs across projects ranging from £10k to £5m.
• Manage projects from feasibility and concept design through to construction and completion.
• Produce structural calculations, technical specifications, drawings and reports.
• Undertake structural surveys and prepare detailed assessments.
• Liaise with architects, contractors and clients to deliver coordinated design solutions.
• Monitor project programmes, resources, budgets and design variations.
• Support fee proposals, client relationships and business development.
• Promote BIM, Revit and 3D design processes.
• Support junior team members and contribute to growth of Cambridge division.

The Role

The successful Senior Structural Engineer will join an established team, delivering a diverse range of structural engineering projects from initial concept through to completion.

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for:
