Job summary

Severfield, the UK’s leading structural steelwork group, is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join our design office. The role can be based at Dalton, Lostock or Mansfield, with responsibilities delivering code-compliant, high-quality structural steelwork solutions to meet client requirements and budgets.

Qualifications

• Degree or Masters Degree in civil / structural engineering.
• Preferably Chartered Structural Engineer MIStructE.

Responsibilities

• Deliver code-compliant, high-quality structural steelwork solutions.
• Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to produce practical design solutions.
• Carry out structural analysis and produce calculations for building regulations.
• Create detailed design sketches for draughtspersons with buildability and safety in mind.
• Coordinate with design teams to ensure a compliant design.
• Define temporary works requirements and assess them clearly.
• Ensure compliance with procedures, QA, safety legislation and contractual responsibilities.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
