Job Description:

About Us: VML Health

VML Health is a global leader in healthcare strategy, delivering transformative, measurable health outcomes by merging creativity, technology, and innovation. By connecting brands with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals (HCPs), we create integrated omnichannel solutions that drive real-world impact.

Where You Shine

As a Senior Medical Communications Strategist, you will synthesize medical, experience, and engagement insights to craft strategic narratives and shape medical communications programs. You’ll work at the intersection of creativity, medical science, and analytics to develop impactful experiences for HCPs – from med comms strategy to tactical ideation to the delivery and implementation of stakeholder engagements.

Working across med comms and medical education initiatives, you will work hand in hand with Medical and Account teams to infuse strategic thinking into delivery every step of the way. Leveraging insights and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, you’ll turn client objectives and med comms priorities into measurable success, delivering solutions that engage, inspire, and create lasting connections between HCPs and pharma brands/companies.

What your success will look like

  • Craft the narrative: Synthesize insights from medical teams and own research to craft strategic narratives and program identities for medical communications initiatives.
  • Lead insights generation: Design, conduct, and lead research into stakeholder mindsets, journeys, and experiences within the treatment landscape to identify actionable insights. Design and lead client and expert workshops to navigate groups towards desired endpoints.
  • Master the journey: Guide development of seamless omnichannel customer journeys across pre-launch, launch, and post-launch phases, incorporating dynamic personalization to engage with HCPs along their learning journey.
  • Strategize with precision: Develop integrated, data-informed strategies for medical communications programs in line with Medical communication needs and understanding of stakeholder experience needs.
  • Collaborate deeply: Partner with specialized teams to ensure customer journeys and communication narratives are rooted in innovative design thinking and deliver exceptional personalized customer experiences.
  • Lead with innovation: Introduce and implement emerging tools and methodologies, drawing inspiration from different disciplines to drive evolution of medical communications processes and delivery.
  • Elevate content delivery: Work alongside creative and medical teams to ensure engagement strategies integrate seamlessly with content, messaging, and regulatory requirements, and are built to meet strategic goals.
  • Build trust: Foster strong client relationships as a strategic partner, delivering actionable, ROI-driven solutions that address their most pressing challenges.
  • Mentor and inspire: Lead and develop junior strategists, building a team culture of creativity, growth, and collaboration.
  • Win the pitch: Participate in new business proposals by presenting bold, forward-thinking visions that set VML Health apart in a competitive landscape.

Who You Are and What You Bring

  • Proven experience with medical communications: 3-6 years working in medical communications or medical education, with proven experience with a wide range of deliverables and tactical planning.
  • Strong understanding of medical science: Medical or scientific background, and/or demonstrated ability to understand and synthesize complex science in conversation with Medical teams.
  • Strategic Thinker: Experienced in crafting creative briefs, building strategic frameworks for programs, campaigns, and messaging/content development, and weaving disparate datapoints together to tell a compelling narrative.
  • Peer-to-Peer Expertise: Passion for leveraging the power of P2P and interactions among HCPs that has translated into successful development and deployment of impactful KOL programs, advisory boards, speaker programs, roundtable discussions and other innovation tactics that bring HCPs together for discussion and learning
  • Congress Experiences: Keen understanding of the HCP Congress space with experience in building an integrated Congress ecosystem that prompts learning and engagement pre, during and post Congress with unique tactics and experiences.
  • Data-Driven Mindset: Constantly thinking about established and novel ways to assess success and looks to incorporate measurement into all engagements.
  • Leadership: Confident and authoritative, able to flex role within project teams from SME to process driver. Experience coaching junior team members desirable.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or advanced degree preferred.
