Job summary

LexisNexis Risk Solutions Group is seeking aSystems Engineer with deep expertise in enterprise storage, backup, and hybrid cloud architectures. You will lead provisioning, optimization, and automation across on-premises and cloud environments, including AWS and Azure.

Strong scripting and governance skills are required to drive reliable, scalable data protection strategies. Based in the UK with potential flexibility for nearby locations, you will mentor teammates, design future-ready

Qualifications

BS in Engineering, CS, IT, or related field or equivalent experience.
Experience with enterprise storage administration and optimization.
Hands-on experience with backup, recovery, and data protection platforms.
Automation, scripting, and infrastructure-as-code experience.
Experience with public cloud storage and hybrid cloud architectures.
Knowledge of immutable storage, WORM, object lock, and ransomware-resilient architectures.
Experience with Fiber Channel SAN infrastructure and related troubleshooting.
Systems/storage architecture design, solutioning, and roadmapping for on-prem and hybrid cloud.
Financial and vendor management, including budgeting and TCO analysis.
Strong technical writing and documentation abilities.
Team development, mentoring, and knowledge transfer.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic input to plans for enterprise storage, backup/recovery, and hybrid cloud environments.
Monitor system management alerts and respond to storage and data protection exceptions.
Diagnose complex system and performance problems using logs, metrics, and tools.
Manage provisioning of enterprise storage arrays and backup solutions, including replication and snapshots.
Design, implement, and manage cloud storage/backups on Azure and AWS.
Develop and optimize automation scripts and IaC using Bash, Python, Terraform, and Ansible.
Implement immutable storage technologies and object-lock policies.
Perform fiber channel infrastructure administration and SAN fabric troubleshooting.
Lead architectural design and long-term roadmaps for storage and data protection.
Provide strategic recommendations for technology adoption and process automation.
Manage CapEx/OpEx for storage projects, including budgeting and vendor negotiations.
Create and maintain architecture diagrams, SOPs, runbooks, and disaster recovery plans.
Mentor and train team members through documentation and hands-on labs.
