Job summary

Apex Resource Management Ltd is seeking a Standards and Controls Engineer in Wolverhampton to develop, update and implement control specifications and standards for manufacturing equipment and systems. The role covers mechanical, electrical, PLC software and robot programming software development and aims to deliver production-ready interfaces.

Qualifications

Siemens training/experience is essential.
Extensive PLC experience is required.
Good robotics experience is required.
Experience with Computer Numerically Controlled programming methods.
Experience delivering and launching control systems in automotive/propulsion environments.
Thorough understanding of machine electrical systems and designs.
Knowledge of machinery safety legislation and standards.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate and deliver control systems standards for production-ready equipment interfaces.
Maintain relationships with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations and IT teams.
Provide technical expertise to identify root causes and corrective actions.
Maintain standards, project books and specifications for manufacturing systems.
Maintain interface specs from shop floor PLCs to MES systems.
Commission and work on machine monitoring and quality systems in production facilities.
Support the development of suppliers into group standards for equipment manufacture.
