Net Talent are partnering with a well-known technology business based in Edinburgh who are looking to grow their hugely successful engineering team and are looking for a Senior Staff Engineer in the Java space to work on customer facing applications and systems.

There is a huge focus on innovation with some major projects in the works. You will have experience developing highly scalable and available backend systems & API’s using Java and Cloud based infrastructure and technologies ideally AWS. Although this is predominantly a back-end role, there will also be the option to get involved in some front end work if you wish to broaden your skill set.

They operate a Hybrid model where it is usually 2 days a week onsite in their modern Edinburgh office.

Experience

• Strong backend experience with Java
• Experience with AWS as well as understanding DevOps concepts such as IaC (we use Terraform)
• Experience with Kafka and event streaming
• Experience working on critical systems (ideally high volume and at scale)
• Familiarity working in an Agile environment
• Understanding relational, non-relational databases, messaging queues and concurrency
