Job description

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Staff Nurse working within our Paediatric Neurorehabilitation and Complex Care Inpatient Ward, you'll play a key role in the smooth operation of the department. You will support and mentor junior nurses, using your clinical knowledge to guide and support them, while also leading the unit in the absence of the Sister/Charge nurse. Your responsibilities will include implementing and evaluating holistic care plans, participating in audits or quality improvement projects, and contributing to the continuous improvement of patient care. Job responsibilities

Position: Senior Staff Nurse - Paediatric Neurorehabilitation & Complex Care

Location: The Portland Hospital for Women & Children, London

Type: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week, Permanent

Shifts: Flexibility required for long days, nights & weekends

Qualifications
  • NMC Child Registered Nurse (RN Child / RSCN) with immediate paediatric life support
Experience
  • Experience in Paediatric Neurorehabilitation and complex care
  • Understanding of Safeguarding issues
  • Teaching and mentoring experience
  • Experience with clinical governance and audits
  • Supervising and assessing students and shift leading (desirable)
  • Experience with tracheostomised patients (desirable)
