Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is seeking a Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse for ward 117 in the Infectious Diseases Unit. You will join a leadership team of three Band 6 nurses and one Band 7, delivering senior leadership, clinical guidance and ward management in an infectious diseases inpatient setting.

The post requires 2 years’ experience at Band 5 RN level on the Infectious Diseases Unit prior to application, with duties including in-charge responsibility, audits, training, and

Qualifications

• Nurse with leadership experience in a ward setting (Band 6) and ability to manage on‑ward operations.
• Experience in audits and training delivery is desirable.
• Strong skills in risk assessment, quality monitoring and ward meetings support.

Responsibilities

Job description

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse on ward 117 the Infectious Diseases Unit. Ward 117 is a 14 bedded inpatient Infectious Diseases inpatient facility.

On successful application and interview you will be an integral part of the ward leadership team of 3 band 6 Nurses and 1 band 7 nurse, working together to provide Senior leadership skills, knowledge and guidance in Infectious diseases inpatient and ward management.

2 years experience at band 5 RN level on the Infectious Diseases Unit are essential prior to application.

• Daily Nurse in charge and in-reaching duties


• Taking part in audits


• Taking part in training


• Expanded skills-finance management, sickness and absence management, appraisals, DATIX and risk assessment management, quality monitoring and improvement, roster management, management of complaints, managing complex situations, leading ward meetings -this list is not exhaustive
