Job summary

NHS Highland invites applications for a Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse in the Medical High Dependency Unit at Raigmore Hospital. This fast-paced HDU cares for acutely unwell patients admitted from Acute Medicine, General Wards, Community and ED.

The successful candidate will bring HDU or critical care experience, strong English skills and an enthusiasm to develop clinically and as a leader within a cohesive team.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse to join our team within the Medical High Dependency Unit atRaigmoreHospital. We are a 6 bedded critical care unit comprising of 4 open bays and 2 cubicles.

The Medical High Dependency Unit admits acutely unwell patients directlyfrom the Acute Medicine Unit, General wards, CommunityandEmergency Department. This is a fast paced and interesting environment to work within.

We are looking for a motivated,caringand compassionate nurse, whois able towork well under pressure and already has experience within a HDU setting or are looking to gain enhanced experience within an acute environment.

Successful candidates should be able to work well as part of a cohesive and dynamic team and have an interest in building leadership skills, have excellent care values and a good sense of humour. They should also have enthusiasm to work, tolearnand developboththemselves andtheircolleagues and have a passion for Critical Care. Candidatesmusthave strong written and verbal English language skills.

This is an ideal area to gain acute medical and critical care experience and be supported to develop your clinical and leadership skills. We help to support staff on career pathways to develop skills which can lead to a variety of roles including Senior ChargeNursesandAdvanced Nurse Practitioners.
