Job summary

Fortius Clinic in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Spinal Practitioner to oversee safe, efficient spinal services within our operating theatres. You will provide expert scrub support for complex procedures, lead on spinal instrumentation, and contribute to service development.

Working with consultants and MDTs, you will manage staffing, governance, and education, while driving patient safety and cost‑effective practice.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ operating theatres experience with extensive spinal scrub expertise.
• Significant experience in Orthopaedic and/or Spinal theatres.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience.
• Proven ability to lead a multi‑functional team including junior staff.
• ILS qualification; mentorship or practice assessor qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee spinal theatre scheduling, staffing, and resource deployment.
• Lead instrumentation and implant coordination, loan kits and consumables.
• Develop governance, incident reporting and quality improvement programmes.
• Deliver education, simulation training, and mentorship for spinal procedures.
• Collaborate with procurement, theatre leadership and spine nurse consultant.
• Support staff development and performance reviews.
