Job summary

Swansea Bay University Health Board in Swansea, Wales, is seeking a Senior Clinical Fellow in Spinal Surgery to join the Regional Spinal Surgical Unit based at Morriston Hospital. The post offers broad exposure to adult spinal procedures within a high-volume tertiary service serving Swansea Bay and wider West Wales.

Qualifications

Essential: GMC/GDC registration and current registration to practice.
Essential: at least 2 years of experience in a surgical specialty or as a fixed-term specialty trainee.
Desirable: MRCS or recognised equivalent, prior spinal surgery exposure.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day clinical support to the Regional Spinal Service.
Undertake inpatient reviews and ward rounds.
Assess emergency and elective admissions and support perioperative care.
Participate in spinal operating lists and outpatient clinics.
Contribute to audit, research, teaching and service improvement.
