An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Senior Specialist Production Pharmacist to join the Pharmacy Production team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Trust. You will be joining a friendly and progressive department, and we are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for the right individual to develop their career in technical services and management. The role is open as Band 8a or Band 7 - 8a progressional post; for pharmacists with a background in technical services who want to progress their skills, knowledge, and experience through this post and by completing the PTQA diploma.
You will join a team of Pharmacists and Technicians, supporting the advancement of Pharmaceutical Quality Systems and Clinical Trials in the department. You will ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice and professional standards.
The unit holds ‘Specials’ and Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP) licences, aseptic dispensing of products under Section 10 exemption, and Pharmacist supervision.
The Pharmacy Production department provides a range of aseptic and non-sterile products, including monoclonal antibodies, gene therapy, CIVAS, and IMPs.
There are exciting developments in the pipeline, offering opportunities to further develop your skills.
The role involves providing specialist Pharmacist input into the department, supervising and checking prepared and dispensed products, and supporting quality management systems.
This role includes leading the development of new products within the unit, including MS Licensed, Section 10 exemption, ATMPs, and Access Scheme products, involving validation of products and processes.
The appointment to Band 8a depends on meeting the criteria in the personal specification. For Band 7, progression to Band 8a requires successful completion of the PTQA diploma.
