Brainkind is seeking a Senior Specialist Physiotherapist to lead a neurological care team at Kerwin Court in Horsham. You will guide therapy planning, supervise staff, and drive service developments while maintaining high clinical governance and quality standards.

The role requires HCPC registration, a physiotherapy degree, and post-registration leadership experience in neuro rehabilitation, with a commitment to CPD and evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• Degree/diploma in physiotherapy and HCPC registration.
• Post-registration leadership experience in health/social care setting.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
• Experience with clients with neurological disease and disability, and evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management and supervision of staff.
• Provide on-site leadership and contribute to service developments.
• Oversee service delivery from referral to discharge with planned therapy programmes.
• Maintain awareness of team caseloads for efficient service delivery.
• Lead clinical governance, risk management and policy adherence.

• Chair interdisciplinary team meetings and review meetings as appropriate.
• Collaborate with other professionals on cross-organisational service issues.

Salary: £49,387 - £56,515 per annum FTE

Hours: This post is 30 hours per week

An exciting opening has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated specialist physiotherapist with neurological experience to join our team at Kerwin Court. This post would offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work in a leadership role as well as to be an integral part of an excellent team that provides comprehensive rehabilitation and support to our residents.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the day-to-day management and leadership of staff within the service and provide support to staff as required
• To provide on-site leadership for the team and take an active role in service developments through the use of service user participation strategies, peer review, audit, and evaluation of outcome measures
• Responsible for overseeing service delivery from referral to discharge to ensure treatment programmes are planned and delivered effectively
• To maintain an awareness of the caseloads of the team to ensure the most effective and efficient service is provided.
• To be responsible for leading clinical governance activity within the team with regard to clinical risk management and for implementing clinical governance policies, standards and guidelines.
• Responsible for ensuring a high standard of service, delivered within local and national guidelines and within the resources available. To ensure documentation produced by other members of the team is in line with professional and Brainkind standards
• To be responsible to chair interdisciplinary team meetings and review meetings as appropriate
• To work with other professionals in managing operational issues of services which cross organisational boundaries
• To hold responsibility for managing own caseload within an agreed defined clinical area
• To assess, plan, implement and evaluate therapy intervention to meet the assessed needs of service users

About you:

• Suitable applicants will have a degree/diploma within physiotherapy and be HCPC registered.
• Relevant post-registration training and experience and relevant leadership experience and training in a health/social care setting
• Evidence of Continued Professional Development
• Proven experience of working in an appropriate service across healthcare settings
• Experience of working with clients with moderate to advanced neurological disease and disability
• Demonstrable experience of evidence-based practice, research, audit and outcome measures
• Highly specialist knowledge and application of neurological therapy assessments and interventions using complex level clinical reasoning. Seating and postural care experience desirable and respiratory competency essential
• Evidence of managing a team of staff including setting objectives, appraisal, recruitment and disciplinary issues
