Job summary

Leading Edge is seeking an experienced Specialist Medical Practitioner in London to provide high-quality specialist care, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients. You will work within multidisciplinary teams, upholding patient safety and clinical governance.

The role requires GMC-registered practitioners with a relevant specialist qualification and 3–5+ years post-specialisation experience, with a commitment to professional development and adherence to NHS guidelines.

Qualifications

• Medical degree MBBS/MBChB or equivalent from a recognised institution.
• GMC registration with licence to practise is required.
• Recognised specialist qualification relevant to the position.
• 3–5+ years post-specialisation clinical experience.
• Sound knowledge of evidence-based clinical practice and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients within the relevant medical specialty.
• Develop and implement treatment and care plans.
• Conduct specialist consultations, examinations, and clinical assessments.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as needed.
• Collaborate with consultants, nurses and other clinical teams.
• Review investigations, lab results, and imaging.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
• Participate in MDT meetings and clinical case discussions.
• Support emergency and urgent-care requirements when applicable.
• Contribute to governance, audits, and patient-safety initiatives.
• Adhere to NHS policies, GMC standards and UK regulations.
• Supervise and guide junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
