Job summary

MDA Space in the UK is seeking a Senior RF Engineer to help design and test satellite telecommunications payloads for diverse orbits, performing RF system design, simulations and link-budget analyses.

The role requires extensive experience in high-reliability space environments, circuit and PCB design, and EMI/EMC analysis. You will collaborate with in-house and external PCB teams and contribute to robust manufacturing packages.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of RF engineering experience in Space or High Reliability sectors.
• Knowledge of LEO/GEO communications payloads.
• Experience in circuit and PCB design and RF simulation tools.
• Specialist knowledge in high reliability design, spacecraft link budgets, signal integrity, radiation effects and EMI/EMC standards.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team developing satellite telecommunications payloads for various orbits.
• RF system and circuit level design, simulation and testing.
• Support link budget analysis.
• Detailed circuit design including schematic capture, component selection, analysis and EM simulation.
• Engineering analysis and documentation (Derating, Worst Case, Reliability, Radiation, EMI/EMC, FMECA, Power Budget).
• Direct in-house and 3rd party PCB layout design teams.
• Deliver prototype and product-quality manufacturing packages.
