We are looking for a senior sous chef to join our team at wagamama, a company celebrating diversity and personality over perfection. With over 165 restaurants, we aim to nourish from bowl to soul.
The role |
The senior sous chef will be an inspirational leader, creating a positive environment for both team and guests. You will support coaching and developing your team to achieve their best, while driving restaurant performance and delivering excellent results.

- Ensure an excellent guest experience by maintaining high standards in food preparation and equipping your team with necessary skills.
- Maintain spotless food, health, and safety standards, understand financial aspects like gross profit, stock control, and labor costs, and proactively spot opportunities.
- Build a coaching culture within your team, working closely with the head chef on recruitment and development, fostering personal and professional growth.
- Be a forward-thinking problem solver, able to make quick decisions on your feet.
What we look for |
- Experience leading a kitchen team as a head chef or senior sous chef, driving performance in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, capable of having considerate and supportive conversations.
- Experience maintaining high standards in food, health, safety, and financial management including GP and stock control.
- Ability to manage labor costs and react to changing demands.
- Leadership qualities that inspire and engage teams, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels respected and belongs.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly and adapt.
