Job summary

Royal Horticultural Society is seeking a full-time Junior Sous Chef for our in-house catering operation at RHS Garden Hyde Hall, Chelmsford, Essex. The role reports to the Head Chef and requires weekend and bank holiday availability as part of a high-standard, garden‑themed kitchen team.

You will work across three kitchens producing a diverse lunchtime menu, with daytime service and minimal evenings. A strong focus on food safety and HACCP is essential, and own transport is preferred.

you will be joining a team of chefs working predominantly for a daytime service, with no split shifts and few evenings, working across 3 kitchens producing a diverse lunchtime offer this award-winning team deliver the highest standard of food using produce from our own garden. Our outlets include Gardeners Rest Restaurant and the Clover Café; the role requires availability at weekends and bank holidays. You must have excellent communication and organisational skills be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Must have own transport. A strong knowledge of food safety and handling as well as HACCP is essential.
