Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a Senior Sourcing Lead based in Port Talbot. The role involves managing a multi-billion supply chain, delivering professional procurement services and working with internal and external stakeholders.

It is a 12-month contract with potential extension, starting ASAP after medical assessment. The position offers hybrid working after training, with remote two days per week, and a competitive rate DOE inside IR35.

Qualifications

• Strong background in procurement, ideally within Corporate or Facilities Management.
• Full driving licence and access to own vehicle due to site.
• Excellent knowledge of procurement practices and the sourcing process cycle.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good IT literacy, particularly Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook and Excel.
• SAP experience would be an advantage.
• Sound numeracy skills.
• Ability to use your own initiative and apply a proactive approach to tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support the team in managing a multi-billion supply chain globally.
• Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to achieve maximum value and lowest cost base.
• Help achieve robust management of goods, services and materials.
• Source goods and services for Tata Steel that align with sustainability values.
• Collaborate with Senior Management to ensure security of goods while minimising disruption.
• Develop, deploy and execute UK commercial contracts.
• Support the tendering process.
• Conduct market research to ensure fit-for-purpose supply base.
• Deliver a professional procurement service to the business.
• Liaise with stakeholders internally and externally via various channels.
• Create strong business partnerships and provide commercial guidance.
• Use SAP and Microsoft Office daily.

The role is office-based, with the opportunity to work remotely two days per week after training.

The successful candidate will support the management of a multi-billion supply chain globally, delivering a professional procurement service and working closely with internal and external stakeholders.

The role is due to start ASAP, subject to the successful result of a medical assessment, which includes a drug and alcohol test.

• Create strong business partnerships and act as the go-to for commercial advice, guidance and support with challenges.
• Use SAP and Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint, daily.

Essential Requirements
