Cambridge House in London is seeking a Senior Sommelier to deliver an engaging wine experience, guiding guests through our curated selection with knowledge and passion. You will tailor recommendations to menus, occasions and guest tastes, upholding exceptional service standards while sharing expertise with the team.

You will curate memorable pairings, collaborate with Culinary and Cambridge House colleagues, and contribute to a distinctive, personal wine program in a landmark Mayfair property.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Senior Sommelier or experienced Sommelier in a luxury hotel, fine‑dining restaurant or high‑end hospitality environment.
• Strong wine knowledge across classic and emerging regions, grape varieties, vintages, producers and winemaking techniques.
• A recognised wine qualification such as WSET Level 3 or above, or equivalent via CMS would be advantageous.
• Demonstrable experience in wine service, food pairing, cellar management, stock control and ordering with an understanding of commercial performance.
• A collaborative approach to developing fellow team members and contributing to a positive working culture.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional wine service through thoughtful recommendations and engaging storytelling that bring each bottle, producer and vintage to life.
• Guide guests through our wine selection with confidence and expertise, creating pairings that reflect tastes and occasions.
• Support the day‑to‑day running of the wine service, ensuring consistency, efficiency and high presentation standards.
• Work closely with the wider Sommelier, Culinary and Cambridge House teams to deliver memorable pairings and seamless service.
• Share knowledge through tastings, briefings and on‑the‑job training, supporting development of team members.
• Assist with cellar organisation, stock management, inventory control and careful handling of wines.
• Stay curious about new regions, producers and vintages to enhance guest experience and commercial success.
• Maintain exceptional standards of professionalism, responsible alcohol service, licensing compliance and cellar safety.
