We are currently looking for a highly motivated (Senior) Solutions Engineer to join our Sales team in the UK.

Senior role available subject to level of industry experience.

The key responsibilities of this role will include:
  • Direct customer facing support to sales with major account and channel opportunities.
  • Support of strategic customers: general technical consulting, network design, network optimization
  • Providing expert knowledge of Carrier Ethernet and IP to the UK and Ireland Sales Team.
  • Responsible for executing the technical aspects of the RFX process and assisting the Key Account Manager with the Win / Loss Analysis process including tools and documentation.
  • Support customer demonstrations and work with Customer Services to provide trials, evaluations, and First Installs and Technology Introduction Programmes.
  • Strategic input to Adtran Business Development regarding Ethernet market direction and future product and feature portfolio. Upstream and downstream communications between PLM / Market Development groups and the UK and Ireland Sales team.
  • Conceptual studies on (future) access and metro network architectures and functionality.
  • Maintain own product knowledge and expertise of Adtran products and applications, and competitive landscape.
  • Contribute to and provide content, such as application notes, presentation materials for sales, competitive knowledge, and other sales collateral.
  • Expected to take part in lab activities.
Knowledge, skills and experience required
  • Good science / engineering degree and/or equivalent industry experience
  • In-depth knowledge of either Ethernet Access, Metro and transmission networks or other datacentric networks / LANs
  • Experience in the network providers, data centre, or telco / router equipment supplier area
  • Any exposure to the following is desirable but not critical to the role: automation, Netconf, MEF terminology, security, and SDN technologies
  • Good English skills, both spoken and written
  • Strong Presentation skill as subject matter expert
  • Resilient personality and attitude essential
Scope of employment
  • Fulltime / Permanent
  • Readiness to regularly travel to customers within the UK (approx. 20%)
  • DBS check will be required (Adtran to arrange)
Primary location of job
  • Office based (York or Basingstoke), hybrid working or remote working
