Senior Solutions Architect, UKI Financial Services

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Senior Solutions Architect to join our Financial Services team, focusing on Capital Markets customers in the UK. As a trusted technical advisor, you will help leading financial institutions innovate and transform their business using AWS technologies.

Solutions Architects work closely with AWS customers to optimize their use of the Cloud. They manage the technical relationship between customers and AWS, providing recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability, and operational efficiency. They understand customer business needs and offer guidance on creating business value through technology, collaborating with teams such as account management, professional services, support, product teams, and the AWS partner ecosystem.

In this role, you will apply your creativity to link technology with tangible solutions and educate AWS customers about potential innovations within a diverse and evolving market. You will work alongside an Account Executive to help customers achieve their goals using AWS technology.

The Solutions Architecture team is diverse, with members from various technical backgrounds. Practical knowledge of AWS is preferred but not mandatory, as long as you have a solid technical foundation and a willingness to learn.

Key job responsibilities

1. Own the technical relationship with the customer, acting as their trusted advisor based on their best interests.
2. Lead technical discussions, architecture design, reviews, and workshops across domains such as trading, risk, post-trade, market data, and asset and wealth management to drive business value.
3. Design scalable, secure solutions leveraging AWS services and emerging technologies like AI/ML and HPC.
4. Collaborate with sales teams to develop and execute customer engagement strategies.
5. Create technical content and reference architectures for capital markets use cases.
6. Influence AWS product roadmap based on customer feedback and needs.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent, or relevant professional/military experience.
• Experience in IT development, implementation, or consulting within software or internet industries.
• Experience in technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, security, networking, or data analytics.
• Experience designing or implementing applications and infrastructure.
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences, including executives.

Preferred qualifications

• Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base, and industry verticals.
• Experience in infrastructure and database architecture, networking.
• Experience engaging with end users or developer communities.
• Deep understanding of the Financial Industry, especially Capital Markets or Fintech segments.
