Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a technical leader to help global telecommunications service providers transform their businesses with AWS cloud and generative AI technologies. AWS Solutions Architects work on complex customer challenges, leading in defining technical strategies and developing capabilities.

The problem domains are diverse: 5G monetization, network function virtualization, digital customer journeys, OSS/BSS transformation, mobile edge computing, hyperscale data, and cybersecurity. AWS offers a broad spectrum of services including GenAI, AI/ML, edge computing, IoT, and data analytics.

As part of the Telecommunications Solutions Architecture team, you will collaborate with customers, internal AWS teams, and partners to address telecom-specific challenges. You will own the AWS technology strategy for your customers and account teams, driving AWS adoption. Connecting technology with measurable business value, assessing risks, and promoting innovative risk-taking are key aspects of this role. A long-term perspective on business, product, and technical outcomes is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Link technology to solutions, inventing cloud-native reference architectures for various use cases.
2. Create and share best practices, technical content, and reference architectures (white papers, code samples, blogs).
3. Educate and evangelize AWS technology and industry trends via workshops, meetups, conferences, and online media.
4. Work with large Telco customers within the EMEA region, with up to 30% travel.

About the Team:

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) focus on revenue and growth across market segments, including enterprise and public sector. The AWS Support team partners with clients building mission-critical applications on AWS.

Qualifications:

Basic:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent.
• Experience in IT development or consulting in software or internet industries.
• Experience in specific technology domains (software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, security, networking, data & analytics).
• Experience in application and infrastructure design, implementation, or consulting.
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences, including executives.

Preferred:

• Experience in infrastructure and database architecture, networking.
• Experience with end-user or developer communities.
• Experience architecting solutions on AWS.
• Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, and industry verticals.
• Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.
• Experience with regulated industries.
