About the role

Our Architecture team collaborates with business and enterprise partners to define strategic directions, make investment decisions, and promote platform reuse to achieve business goals. We guide delivery teams to balance speed, quality, and compliance, emphasizing pragmatic decision-making.

As a Senior Manager Solutions Architect, you will bring deep technical, industry, and business understanding to shape the architecture of our UK ecosystem across your domains. You will promote architecture excellence and foster innovation to create value.

What you'll do

• Lead the technical direction within your business outcome team and the broader Architecture community, influencing the long-term architecture strategy.
• Collaborate with product managers and sponsors on roadmaps to deliver business capabilities.
• Lead technical initiatives, partnering with Product teams to design solutions and break down complex problems.
• Ensure solutions are resilient, scalable, well-managed, performant, and cost-effective through collaboration with peers.
• Drive architecture simplification, reuse of industry SaaS solutions, and continuous improvement in processes and practices.
• Balance vision with pragmatism, making informed trade-offs considering time, cost, quality, scope, and risk.
• Support engineering skills development and promote knowledge sharing on industry and enterprise trends.

What we're looking for

• Experience in solutions architecture within diverse IT environments, including SaaS delivery and enterprise governance.
• Experience with real-time/event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge across software applications, infrastructure, and management information domains, with AWS cloud experience preferred.
• Ability to make and communicate technical trade-offs effectively.
• Experience in complex, regulated industries like Financial Services is beneficial.
• Ability to work with diverse, geographically dispersed teams and adapt approaches as needed.

Work location and environment

This permanent role is based in Nottingham, with in-office presence on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. We value collaboration and connection.
