Job summary

MRJ Recruitment is partnering with a UK technology-driven organisation to recruit a Senior Solution Architect to lead AI-powered and automation-focused enterprise architectures. You will translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions and define architectural standards across AI, automation and cloud platforms.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to shape roadmaps, guide engineering teams, and ensure secure, scalable delivery of complex architectures.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Solution/Software/Enterprise Architect.
• Strong track record designing enterprise AI, automation or Generative AI solutions.
• Excellent knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
• Experience designing large-scale distributed architectures with APIs and microservices.
• Strong knowledge of MLOps, DevOps and AI delivery practices.
• Familiarity with TOGAF or other EA frameworks.
• Experience producing architecture documentation, standards and governance.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to explain tech to non-technical audiences.
• Passion for innovation while balancing technical excellence with commercial delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end enterprise solutions across AI, Generative AI and Intelligent Automation.
• Define solution architectures aligned with strategy and technology standards.
• Partner with Product Owners, Engineering teams and stakeholders to translate challenges into solutions.
• Design integration strategies across APIs, microservices and cloud environments.
• Guide engineering teams through delivery while maintaining architectural alignment.
• Define AI architecture principles, governance and best practices.
• Produce high-level and detailed solution designs and architecture artefacts.
• Identify technical risks, security considerations and scalability challenges.
• Contribute to technology roadmaps and evaluate emerging technologies.
• Coach and mentor Solution Architects and grow the Architecture function.

The Role:

We're looking for an experienced Senior Solution Architect to lead the design of AI-powered and Intelligent Automation solutions across a large-scale enterprise.

You'll work closely with business stakeholders, Product Owners, Technical Architects and Engineering teams to translate complex business requirements into scalable technology solutions aligned with long-term strategic objectives.

This is a highly influential role where you'll help define architectural standards, shape technology roadmaps and ensure AI solutions are secure, scalable and commercially effective.

Day-to-day Responsibilities:

• Design end-to-end enterprise solutions across AI, Generative AI and Intelligent Automation.
• Define solution architectures that align with business strategy, architecture principles and technology standards.

• Coach and mentor Solution Architects while helping develop the wider Architecture function.

What They're Looking For:

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect, Software Architect or Enterprise Architect.
• Strong experience designing enterprise AI, Automation or Generative AI solutions.
• Excellent understanding of cloud platforms including Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
• Experience designing large-scale distributed architectures using APIs, Microservices and modern integration patterns.
• Strong knowledge of Machine Learning, MLOps, DevOps and AI delivery practices.
• Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF.
• Experience producing architecture documentation, standards and governance.
• Strong stakeholder management with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Passion for innovation with the ability to balance technical excellence against commercial delivery.
