Job Description

Working within the Public Safety business, you will be responsible for defining policies and standards that guide technology delivery, with significant experience in modern, cloud-based technology standards and practices.

As Solution Architect, you will lead a team of architects, providing architectural design and technology roadmaps for complex Policing and National Security applications supporting high-volume, mission-critical products and services. Opportunities to oversee architectural needs within Control Room application suites will also be available.

You will collaborate with Product Managers, Delivery, and Technical Leads to influence and define a technology roadmap aligned with our commercial and technological goals.

The core aim of this role is to provide technical assurance for the successful deployment of NECSWS Public Safety products, while safeguarding our commercial interests.

Success in this role requires mediating between teams and explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Confidence in communication across all levels and understanding of evolving technology delivery in an agile environment are essential. High stakeholder expectations mean you must facilitate discussions on high-risk, complex issues within constrained timescales.

The Solution Architect will work with project or programme managers and the wider architecture team to:

• Ensure scope of supply is correctly documented and maintained
• Identify and manage technical project risks
• Document and agree on non-functional requirements from customers
• Conduct practical impact assessments with well-defined scope and implementation, utilizing existing products where possible
• Identify opportunities to sell additional product capabilities

Qualifications

Knowledge/awareness in:

• C++, C#, SQL Server, Windows platforms, Domains / AD, Mitel skills-based routing integration

Practical knowledge of some or all of the following:

• C coding, SIP protocol, VOIP – RTP / RTCP (latency/jitter handling)

In-depth knowledge of:

• Tetra network behaviors (Motorola Dimetra), 3GPP network behaviors (Kodiak MCX), MCX API with Softil SDK, Analogue Radio base stations (VHF, MF), PABX functionality, Airwave certification, EISEC service

The Solution Architect will manage customer relationships, assist with technical issues, support the bid process, and promote architectural vision internally and externally.
