We are looking for a Senior Solution Architect to join our community of tech experts in DWP Digital. In this role, you'll support either our Health & or Children & Families functions. Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Needed

• Business application architecture design, modelling techniques, patterns, tools, and standards
• Public cloud technologies, especially AWS, including design patterns, containers, tools, and best practices
• CICD delivery methodologies and best practices
• Relational, NoSQL, and open-source database design, modelling, technologies, and patterns
• Significant experience designing microservice, event-driven, and API-led architectures, recognizing and guiding best practices

Your Role

We seek skilled architects confident working on products and services in a complex digital environment. As a Senior Solution Architect, you will design, implement, and oversee IT solutions that improve services for millions of DWP users.

You will deliver technical and architectural design for either the Health & or Children & Families functions, working collaboratively with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to create efficient solution designs that meet user needs. You will ensure technical quality and adherence to DWP's Digital Blueprint, Enterprise Architecture, and Product Roadmaps. Additionally, you will identify, share, and implement architecture patterns.

Beyond technical expertise, you should be a strong communicator and leader, capable of influencing decisions and simplifying complex concepts for governance, senior leaders, and team members.

Details

Location: Based in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, or Sheffield, with hybrid working arrangements.

Pay: Up to £70,000.

Pension: Civil service pension with employer contributions of 28.97%, worth over £16,000 annually.

Holidays: Starting at 26 days, rising to 31, plus up to 3 extra days per month on flexi-time and public holidays.
