Job summary

Optima Site Solutions Ltd is seeking a Senior Solar Solutions Manager in Weybridge to oversee Solar PV and Battery Storage projects from enquiry through to handover. You will coordinate engineers, subcontractors and suppliers, manage budgets and ensure timely delivery across multiple sites.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in Solar PV, strong PV design knowledge, and experience with SolarEdge, PV Sol or Reonic. A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in Solar PV, including solar stringing system design.
• Experience in Solar PV, Battery Storage/EESS or electrical project delivery.
• Strong background in electrical contracting.
• Experience managing multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.
• Knowledge of Solar design and monitoring platforms such as SolarEdge, PV Sol or Reonic.
• Understanding of project costs, budgets and commercial margins.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating a wider technical team.
• A full UK driving license.

Responsibilities

• Support the Technical Director with day-to-day running and development of the Solar and Battery Storage division.
• Plan, coordinate and manage Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System installations.
• Review site surveys, system designs, quotations and project requirements.
• Coordinate engineers, subcontractors, labour, materials, plant and access equipment.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring programmes and deadlines are achieved.
• Monitor project costs, budgets and profitability, identifying potential issues early.
• Ensure installations meet MCS requirements, BS 7671 and company standards.
• Manage DNO applications, commissioning information and project handover documentation.
• Liaise professionally with customers, consultants, engineers, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Attend site meetings and carry out project progress inspections.
• Identify and resolve technical, logistical and commercial issues before they impact delivery.
• Provide technical and operational support to the wider team.
• Contribute to growth and development of Solar PV and Battery Storage division.

Senior Solar Solutions Manager

Optima is recruiting an experienced Senior Solar Solutions Manager on behalf of a growing renewable energy business operating predominantly across London and the Southeast.

This is a key role within the company's expanding Solar PV and Battery Storage division, working closely with the Technical Director to oversee projects from initial enquiry and site survey through to installation, commissioning and final handover. We are looking for someone with strong solar PV and electrical project delivery experience who can take ownership of multiple projects, coordinate engineers and subcontractors, manage suppliers and communicate confidently with clients.

We are looking for an organised, commercially aware and technically competent solar professional who enjoys taking ownership and delivering projects successfully.

You will ideally have:

• 5+ years' experience in Solar PV, including solar stringing system design.
• Previous experience in Solar PV, Battery Storage/EESS or electrical project delivery.
• A strong background in electrical contracting.
• Experience managing multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.
• Good knowledge of solar design and monitoring platforms such as SolarEdge, PV*Sol or Reonic.
• A strong understanding of project costs, budgets and commercial margins.
• The ability to remain calm under pressure and make confident decisions.
• The ability to work independently while also supporting and coordinating a wider technical team.
• A full UK driving license.

Qualifications & Technical Knowledge

• Full electrical qualifications – Gold Card or equivalent.
• Solar PV and EESS qualifications such as C&G, BPEC, LCL or EAL.
• Knowledge and practical understanding of MCS processes is highly advantageous.
• Good understanding of BS 7671 and electrical installation requirements.
• Experience with DNO applications and solar commissioning processes would be beneficial.
