Job summary

Motorola Solutions UK Limited is seeking a Senior Software Product Manager to bridge engineering capabilities and real-world customer missions in RF and embedded software.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or related technical field.
• 3–5+ years in a technical role, ideally Wireless/RF/Defence.
• Strong RF systems knowledge: receivers, antennas, signal processing.
• Ability to translate customer needs into software requirements and roadmaps.

• Prior product management or systems engineering experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer and partner requirements into actionable software product roadmaps and specifications with engineering, sales, and product management teams.
• Own the software product roadmap across real-time, embedded, APIs, and UI components; create promotional content for marketing and support trade events.
• Support PLM activities to ensure RFeye products meet customer requirements and are positioned effectively.
• Collaborate with engineers to evaluate trade-offs, align engineering with market needs and commercial viability.
• Develop deep use-case understanding including TDOA/AOA geolocation, signal capture, and EW support.
• Use products to form judgments on capabilities and improvements; gather end-user feedback.
• Author high-quality white papers, requirement specs, and user stories; enable the FAE team to demonstrate capabilities.

Our RFeye ecosystem - including ruggedized sensors, direction-finding arrays, and advanced software suites - allows our customers to detect, identify, and geolocate signals of interest in the most complex electromagnetic environments. The Role

We have an opportunity for a Senior Software Product Manager to bridge the gap between complex engineering capabilities and real-world customer missions. This is not a "pure" product management role; it also requires some technical understanding of embedded and application software, as well as familiarity with electronic systems for RF mission applications. You will be the "voice of the system", working closely with our engineering teams to develop innovative solutions to high-stakes problems. You will take ownership for some of our software products (both current and future), ensuring they not only have clear development roadmaps, but also solve the challenges faced by our global customer base and are the best they can be.

Key Responsibilities

• Software Solutions: Translate customer and partner requirements into actionable software product roadmaps and specifications, working collaboratively with Senior Engineering, Sales and Product Management colleagues.
• Product Owner: As the owner and lead for Software Products (application and embedded) you will maintain a coherent roadmap across all software components, including real-time user applications, embedded real-time, APIs, and user-interfaces. You will develop promotional content for the marketing team, and provide occasional support at trade events.
• Product Lifecycle Management (PLM): Support the technical evolution of our RFeye products from concept through to deployment and end-of-life. Contribute to PLM activities to ensure that RFeye products meet customer requirements, are positioned and marketed effectively and that the CRFS Sales, Customer Support and Application Engineering teams are fully equipped and trained to sell and support them.
• Bridge Engineering & Commercial: Work alongside software and systems engineers to evaluate trade-offs, ensuring that engineering efforts align with market needs and commercial viability.
• Market & Application Insight: Develop a deep understanding of use-cases, including TDOA/AOA geolocation, signal capture and analysis, and electronic warfare support.
• Hands-on Product User: You will be expected to use our products and become proficient in their use with a view to ensuring they are the best they can be – forming your own judgement on capabilities, improvements and updates using ‘customer eyes’. You will also engage with end users to elicit their input and feedback.
• Documentation & Training: Author high-quality white papers, requirement specifications, and user stories. Ensure the Field Application Engineering (FAE) team is fully equipped to demonstrate new system capabilities.

Basic Requirements

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Education: A degree in Engineering (software/electronic/systems preferable) or a related technical field.
• Industry Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in a technical role, ideally within Wireless/RF, Telecommunications, Defence, or Aerospace.
• Technical Literacy: Strong foundational knowledge of RF systems (receivers, antennas, signal processing) and wireless communications.
• User and Solution Mindset: Proven ability to move beyond "features" and think about customer needs and solutions - how hardware and software interact to solve a specific end-user problem. A demonstrable ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs, and evaluate opportunistic new ideas against current commitments alongside cross-functional stakeholders.
• Communication and Approach: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. A positive attitude and ability to get things done, whilst being a committed team player. An ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with colleagues and clients on product requirements and specifications.
• Product Management: While we welcome engineers looking to transition, prior experience in product management, technical sales support, or systems engineering is highly desirable.

Desirable Skills

• Direct experience with Spectrum Monitoring or Electronic Warfare (EW) applications.
• Understanding of deployable equipment use within a harsh or military environments and modern user interfaces.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools like Jira.
• The ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders or customers.
• Source, compile and analyse market, voice of customer and competitor information.
